Office Information: WIC Texas Eligibility:
If you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility requirements for WIC. However, even if you do not receive these benefits, you may still be eligible for WIC based on the income guidelines for your household size. For example, for a household of one, the monthly income limit is $2,248, and for a household of six, it's $6,210. Pregnant women can count each unborn baby as an additional household member.
During your WIC appointment, you will meet with a nutrition expert who will help determine your eligibility. This includes measurements, iron level checks, and discussions on health, nutrition, or breastfeeding for each family member applying for WIC.
If you qualify, you’ll receive food benefits tailored to your needs and a WIC card to use at the grocery store, along with nutrition counseling and other support services.
Remember, all WIC services are free for those who are eligible, and fathers of children under the age of 5 are also encouraged to apply and participate in the program.
For more details on applying for WIC, check the Texas WIC website or contact this local WIC office
Required Documents: You will need to bring proof of income, address, and identification for all family members applying for benefits. This can include paycheck stubs, rent receipts, utility bills, and personal identification documents.
The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.

This is a complaint regarding the treatment of my Daughter Corinna Alvarez. As a health care provider, WIC services are essential for the wellness and health of a pregnant woman and unborn child. My daughter attempted to renew her benefit after being discharged from the hospital with COVID 19. She attempted to do this on the phone and was told to call back to set up an appointment when her follow up test is negative. she is 33 weeks pregnant and unable to renew services but this is unacceptable. I do not think this response was helpful and heartless given the fact she is recovering from a serious illness and was asking for help during this difficult time. all other public services have found ways to accommodate their clients and I find this response unacceptable. I will be sharing this information publicly and forwarding this complaint only as a courtesy
