WIC Texas Eligibility:
If you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility requirements for WIC. However, even if you do not receive these benefits, you may still be eligible for WIC based on the income guidelines for your household size. For example, for a household of one, the monthly income limit is $2,248, and for a household of six, it's $6,210. Pregnant women can count each unborn baby as an additional household member.
During your WIC appointment, you will meet with a nutrition expert who will help determine your eligibility. This includes measurements, iron level checks, and discussions on health, nutrition, or breastfeeding for each family member applying for WIC.
If you qualify, you’ll receive food benefits tailored to your needs and a WIC card to use at the grocery store, along with nutrition counseling and other support services.
Remember, all WIC services are free for those who are eligible, and fathers of children under the age of 5 are also encouraged to apply and participate in the program.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. I’m a breast feeding mother of 3 children, a 8 year old daughter, a 1 year old daughter and a newborn son born aug-29-2021. I’m a little upset because last week I had my Recertification done over the phone with the MILLER OFFICE IN FORT WORTH TEXAS for my newborn son and my 1 year old daughter. During the Recert the clerk said I could only get a partial wic package that basically CUTS ONE OF MY CHILDREN OF THEIR WIC PACKAGE! She explained to me that either MY NEWBORN SON GETS 4 CANS OF INFANT MILK FOR THE MONTH and MY 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CONTINUE HER FULL WIC PACK, or MY NEWBORN SON GETS 9 CANS OF INFANT MILK FOR THE MONTH and MY 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WIC GETS CUT OFF IN 6 MONTHS! Clearly I was upset because THIS WIC IS FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS OLD! I mean my OLDEST DAUGHTER 8 YEARS OF AGE KEPT RECEIVING HER WIC UNTIL SHE TURNED 5 YEARS OLD! I mean I’m struggling enough as it is and INFANT MILK IS VERY HIGH IN STORES . SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHEN DID THE WIC PROGRAM START CUTTING NEEDY CHILDREN OFF THE SERVICE. Furthermore why wasn’t single mother’s notified OF THIS CHANGE! Come on TEXAS PARENTS ARE ALREADY WORRIED ABOUT HOW THEY CAN AFFORD TO FEED THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE IF THEY DON’T THEN HERE COMES CPS TRYING TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN AWAY! What a system that is going on now through the COVID 19 PANDEMIC! I just wanna know WHERE CAN I VOICE MY COMPLAINTS OR CONCERNS ABOUT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR RECEIVING WIC FOR NEEDY FAMILIES?? Also WHERE CAN I RECEIVE THE GUIDE LINES FOR SINGLE BREAST FEEDING MOTHERS WITH 2 CHILDREN NEEDING MONTHLY WIC UNTIL THEY REACH THE AGE OF 5 YEAR OLD
I was wondering if I can talk to someone about my WIC card.
