WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services to Kansas families who qualify.
WIC stands for Women, Infants and Children.
WICs goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, new moms, and kids under age 5 healthy.
To do this, WIC provides:
Personalized nutrition information and support.
Checks to buy healthy food.
Tips for eating well to improve health.
Referrals for services that can benefit the whole family.
But thats not all!
WIC also offers immunization screening and referral, breastfeeding support, and nutrition and health classes on a variety of topics including meal planning, maintaining a healthy weight, picky eaters, caring for a new baby, shopping on a budget and more.
They encourage you to take advantage of all that WIC offers.
The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.

The fact that a transaction can’t be suspended or cancelled without shutting down the WIC cards is unbelievably inconvenient. If the person ringing things up makes a mistake and then cancels things after ringing up items and swiping the card, it shuts off and my child has to go without the baby food for another Xamount of days because you have no customer service help line that is focused on fixing the card. If I have all of the information, I should be able to deactivate the card IF a cashier makes a mistake. It is not MY fault if they screw things up. If the swipe machine does not work, that is also out of my hands but will shut down the card. Things like THIS need to be fixed ASAP.
