Hello my name is Deborah White: I am a Foster Parent for CFSA/NCCF (Child and Family Services (DC) and National Center for Children and Family). I had a WIC appointment at the Clinton Office for a 6 week-old foster little girl on January 11, 2018. I have work with WIC over 20 years now, with several children I have foster in the past years. This particular day was handle very unprofessionally, rude and distasteful. Upon arrive to the office, the WIC Spanish lady was working with a family of color, and when I arrive, I was instructed to sign in and have a seat. I did, then a Spanish family with 3 children arrive after me, and the WIC Spanish lady stopped working with the family of color , started working with the Spanish family, took their information, process their documents and provided them their information and sent them on their way. At first I thought, maybe the family of color situation was difficult, until I notice she did the same thing to me. Once she finished with the family of color, then it was my turn. Once at the counter, another Spanish family of 2 came in and she did the same thing to me, she did to the 1st family that was here. She left me sitting at the desk, while she took their information, process them and sent them on their way, then return back to me. I don’t think she noticed I was watching her, and notice the way she was discrimination against other families, but was very helpfully to just Spanish family. Also, while I was there I notice, there was another young lady in the back, asking her several times, did she need help? The WIC Spanish Lady yelling at her, NO, and continue to make other families wait, until she finished with all the Spanish family that required WIC services.
