Office Information: DMO's WIC program provides monthly financial allotments to women and children whose incomes are at or below 185% of the federal poverty guidelines.
WIC participants receive checks or food instruments to purchase supplemental nutritious foods from WIC-approved vendors.
Participants also receive nutrition education and counseling at WIC clinics and screening and referrals to other health, welfare and social service providers.
Staff members encourage breastfeeding but also provide iron-fortified formula for infants up to age one if the mother chooses not to or is unable to breastfeed.
UDMO provides WIC services in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, O\'Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, and Pocahontas Counties.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC.
