WIC Texas Eligibility:
If you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility requirements for WIC. However, even if you do not receive these benefits, you may still be eligible for WIC based on the income guidelines for your household size. For example, for a household of one, the monthly income limit is $2,248, and for a household of six, it's $6,210. Pregnant women can count each unborn baby as an additional household member.
During your WIC appointment, you will meet with a nutrition expert who will help determine your eligibility. This includes measurements, iron level checks, and discussions on health, nutrition, or breastfeeding for each family member applying for WIC.
If you qualify, you’ll receive food benefits tailored to your needs and a WIC card to use at the grocery store, along with nutrition counseling and other support services.
Remember, all WIC services are free for those who are eligible, and fathers of children under the age of 5 are also encouraged to apply and participate in the program.
For more details on applying for WIC, check the Texas WIC website or contact this local WIC office
Required Documents: You will need to bring proof of income, address, and identification for all family members applying for benefits. This can include paycheck stubs, rent receipts, utility bills, and personal identification documents.
The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.

It’s always something here with this staff and their attitude. I was calling in to see what I needed to do for my one year old and she was letting me know I needed checkstubs and I said ok but he isn’t here physically due to work to give me them and she tells me I needed them as if I’m stupid and as if I’m saying “no lets just do it”. I told her that’s not what I’m implying and that I wanted to speak with a manager and she said sarcastically nice that she isn’t in till next week and I said ok and explained to her how I’m tired of y’all treating me and talking to me as if I’m stupid and explaining that I’m not asking for her to still give it to me, that I am letting her know and she’s making it seem like I’m saying no just give me the wic benefits. Then she’s not replying and it’s becaise she hangs up!! Unprofessional and I keep calling back so I can get her name and corporate info and they’re not answering my calls. I will be walking in to get information.
This WIC location is spacious and the staff working here are kind. However, it gets really frustrating that phone calls almost never get answered. Sometimes it makes me wonder why it takes only about two rings before the call reaches an automated voice recording message. It almost feels like our phone calls are getting rejected because it usually takes a lot more than two rings before it reaches voicemail, right? we understand that they are understaffed and that they are always, always busy. hopefully you find a way to improve the system. If it would be possible to have access to our appointments via online, that would be very convenient for all of us including you. That way you will not be receiving a ton of phone calls from us and you do not feel the need to ignore them as well. Thank you.
I’ve been calling, and no one answers. I’m trying to get in touch with someone so I can find out what day my appointment is. I lost the paper that told me the date, and so I can change my phone number hat y’all have on file for me as well.
Would like to schedule an appointment and when I’ve found it’s very difficult to get through to talk to someone to do so. If someone could email or even call me back it would be greatly appreciated.
