Office Information:

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a nutrition program that helps mothers and young children stay healthy and eat properly.

WIC helps women, infants and children during times of important growth and helps women and children get the nutrition services and foods that they need to stay healthy.

The WIC program serves eligible women who are breastfeeding, pregnant or have just given birth, infants less than one year old, and children less than five years old.

WIC provides:

• Nutrition education.
• Private and group sessions with a nutrition expert.
• Support and help with breastfeeding.
• Referrals to other services that can help you and your family (e.g. immunizations, health care, dental care).
• Healthy recipes.
• Access to healthy foods.

Eligibility includes infants from birth to age one, children up until they turn five, and women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have just given birth.

In addition, you must be a Virginia resident, be financially eligible, and be at nutritional risk.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC.
